This model is a customizable Gridfinity base plate engineered to map perfectly onto a HomeRacker core frame. Whether you need a small 2x2 shelf or a massive grid, you can generate the perfect size directly in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker (PMM).
✨Key Features
- 📐 Fully Parametric: Use the Customize button to open the PMM and generate your ideal Gridfinity shelf. Define the size by Gridfinity units or have it auto-fit a specific HomeRacker frame size.
- 🌱 Dynamic Strength & Economy: The model is intelligently designed to be economical. The shelf's support ribs automatically grow in height and strength to increase stability for larger shelves, all while saving material on smaller ones.
- 💪 Variable Sizing & Stabilizers: The design intentionally leaves a small gap on the Y-axis, allowing you to place shelves of different sizes right next to each other. To ensure stability, separate, printable stabilizers are included to support the shelf exactly where needed.

🛠️ The Customizer: Two Ways to Define Your Shelf
The customizer gives you two main ways to define the size of your shelf:
- 📖 By Gridfinity Units: Simply use the grid_x and grid_y sliders. The software will automatically calculate the perfect HomeRacker dimensions for you. (Find the Gridfinity-to-HomeRacker mapping in the printing guide PDF attached to this model.) 📖
- 🎯 By HomeRacker Units: Set fit_to_hr to 1. This will deactivate the grid sliders and let you use hr_units_x and hr_units_y to perfectly fill an existing rack with a Gridfinity plate.

🏡 What is HomeRacker?
HomeRacker is a universal modular rack building system I created. It's based on an open specification. Find out more here:

The Official HomeRacker Collection

With HomeRacker, you can build all sorts of things—like Gridfinity Drawers or this 10" Cyberpunk-style rack which you can also find on Makerworld. Check it out!
What's in the Box??
Besides the customizable Fusion 360 file (find it via Download STL/CAD Files), there's also the showcase model as 3mf file, which contains the EXACT model shown in the profile picture.

A Note on Print Profiles: The attached print profiles are only examples! Their only purpose is to give you a small glimpse of what's possible. I designed HomeRacker so you can build basically ANY shelf combination you fancy. Be creative! 💡
What's missing?
To build a custom shelf you'll need - besides the customizer results - additional connectors and supports, download the free HomeRacker - Core system. Please refer to the Assembly & Printing Guide in the Documentation section.
🤝Community Driven
Many of you have already shared great ideas with me — thank you! Unfortunately, my time is very limited. That's why I created the open specification (see Technical Specs), so anyone can create extensions and models for HomeRacker without license restrictions. If you have an idea and the ability to design CAD models, please go ahead — I'd be happy to link your creations in the catalog!
If you're not familiar with CAD design, feel free to pitch your idea to me with as much detail as possible.
