Description
Here is my version of a wasp trap that screws onto standard mason jars. This summer was a bad year for yellowjackets for me and traps are expensive. I had a few extra mason jars, so I designed this cap to screw directly onto them turning them into really cheap wasp traps.
For yellow jackets I used tuna, chicken, or any kind of meat to attract them. This seem to work very well and these traps caught a fair amount of them.
To hang the traps, I used a length of paracord and threaded the ends through the ears from the top of the cap. Tie a knot in each end of the cord and your ready to hang the trap. The counterbores on the bottom side are so the knots are hidden.
