Description

Project Aura — In Development

Thank you all for supporting the project!

Add-on Print Profiles

I’ve added separate print profiles for truck add-ons so you only print the parts that replace components on the Original Truck (no need to reprint the whole model):

  • Military Style (video)
  • Military Style — A1 mini
  • Large Tyre Kit
  • Trailer & Hitch Pack
  • Tuning Wheels
  • Tuning Parts
  • Crawler (tracks)
  • Classic-Style Body

👉 I strongly recommend building the Original Truck first, then exploring add-ons. Before printing any profile, please read the included PDFs (some components have their own short manuals).

Important note about Crawler (tracks)

Please read its instructions first. With the stock CyberBrick motors the tracked version has insufficient power: it moves slowly and stalls on obstacles. It’s best treated as a display/“wow” bonus add-on, not a performance upgrade. Link to video.

Extra files

Inside the ZIP you’ll also find “Extra plywood racing track elements for laser cutting” with all required files and instructions.

Printing & Materials

  • Prototypes were printed in PLA (great for indoor use).
  • For outdoor use, choose PETG HF (better heat/moisture/UV resistance).
  • Supports: only the cabin needs them; supports are manually placed in the 3MF.
  • Min bed: 180×180 mm (Bambu Studio 3MF presets included).

Military Truck:

You will find all the materials below

Tires

My test trucks use “TPU for AMS” tires. On grass and dirt, PLA or PETG HF tires also work with minimal difference. On smooth surfaces, TPU 85A/90A gives the best grip. I’ll try to add a TPU 90A profile soon.

Electronics & Hardware

Designed for CyberBrick: you’ll need one CyberBrick kit and torsion springs 0.6/0.8 mm (available from Bambu Lab store). Use the grease from the CyberBrick kit on the gearbox during assembly.

Suspension springs (0.6 vs 0.8)

The difference is subtle. I prefer 0.8 mm—the truck is more stable against rollovers and easier to control.
If you use 0.8 mm, shorten the ends by ~5 mm with cutters—do this carefully (the cut piece can fly off; wear eye protection).

Gear ratios (optional)

The Materials list includes the single-axis reduction gear kits (1:21, 1:37, 1:48, 1:60, 1:85, 1:105). These are optional—the truck runs great on the stock 1:48. Pick a ratio for your terrain; see Motor & Gearbox in the manual.

Tools

H1.5 hex driver, PH1 Phillips screwdriver, small file/sandpaper, tweezers, diagonal cutters, instant glue.

Take your time and follow the steps—I’ve tried to make the build as simple and enjoyable as possible. Don’t forget to clean the build plate before printing.

If you have ideas to optimize print profiles or experience with TPU 85A/90A, please share in the comments. Questions? I’m happy to help. Enjoy the build!
