Description
HTXP – Bushing Tightener (XLR XX, PX Plug, etherCON CAT6)
What it is
A compact hand tool for tightening/loosening the plastic strain-relief bushing (“back nut”) on Neutrik-style connectors—perfect for DMX/XLR cable assembly and quick field repairs. Designed to grip the bushing securely without marring the connector body.
Why it’s useful
- Fast, repeatable tightening for consistent strain-relief
- Prevents plier marks on housings
- Pocket-size and rugged
Dimensions (STL units = mm)
≈ 40 × 39.6 × 80 (W×D×H)
Compatible bushings (typical)
- XLR XX series
- PX 1/4" plugs (bushing)
- etherCON CAT6 bushing
(Not affiliated with Neutrik; check fit before force.)
Print recommendations
- Material: PETG or ABS (PLA also works, but PETG is tougher)
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Perimeters: 6+ (thick walls = stronger jaws)
- Infill: 35–50% (Gyroid/Cubic)
- Supports: Not required (orient vertically, handle down)
- Top/bottom: 5–6 layers
- Nozzle: 0.4–0.6 mm (0.6 gives beefier walls)
Usage
Slide the jaws over the bushing, hold the connector body with your other hand, and twist to tighten/loosen. Do not over-torque—hand snug is enough.
