Description

Summary

UPDATE: 2025.10.24 (Case Support & Compatibility)
• Added a +3mm version that supports iPhones with slim protective cases.
• Original (no-extension) version is for bare phones.

Compatibility Tips:
• For iPhone 12–16 and 12–16 Pro, use the iPhone 17 (no-extension) version.
• For iPhone 12–16 Pro Max and Plus models, use the iPhone 17 Pro Max (no-extension) version.

This is a custom-designed MagSafe Plate made for the EXKnight Mini Bluetooth Keyboard.
It allows your keyboard to magnetically attach to your iPhone or Android phone with Magsafe case, turning it into a clean, detachable MagSafe-style keyboard — no glue or screws required.

The design fits perfectly on the top of the EXKnight Mini Keyboard, enabling magnetic alignment with the iPhone’s MagSafe ring area. This model is optimized for the iPhone 17 series, but it also works well with most previous iPhone models that support MagSafe.
It’s a simple upgrade that transforms your keyboard into a true MagSafe keyboard module for iPhone or other devices.

Features:

  • Compatible with EXKnight Mini Bluetooth Keyboard
  • MagSafe-style magnetic alignment for iPhone or Android phone with Magsafe case
  • Lightweight and easy to install
  • Supports open-source remixing and adaptation
  • Great for DIY makers and modders

Snap it on — The magnets make it attach to your iPhone like a MagSafe keyboard.

How to use

  1. Print the plate — 3D print the MagSafe Plate
  2. Add magnets — Press the magnets into the slots inside your printed plate
  3. Expose the slot — Gently remove the small silicone pad on top of the keyboard to uncover the slot
  4. Insert the plate — Slide or press the printed plate tab into the top slot until it clicks in place
  5. Snap your keyboard to your iPhone — now it’s fully MagSafe-compatible!

Hey! This version is designed for the bare iPhone 17 only. With the Pathfinder case, you’d need to stretch the model a bit to make it align correctly.

it would also be really cool to see a version where the magsafe mount is on a hinge, so can bend down so the phone can sit on a stand

Thanks! Glad you like it 😄 The current iPhone 17 model should work with the iPhone 16 if you’re using a case, since the 17 is a bit longer. Look at the pictures mine is iPhone 16 PRO with a case, it still have some space. I’m also doing some research and plan to release versions for older iPhones — including the Pro Max and Plus models.
