The Story of the Lion Clan
The Silent Warrior of Leonheart
The warrior was known only as Kael, and his face was the emblem of the stoic determination required by the Lion Clan, or Leonheart. They were not warriors for glory, but the silent Guardians of the Fang who for centuries protected the Crystal Pass, the only mountain gateway leading to the fertile Silverwood Valleys.
Their history was not written in the blood of great pitched battles, but in the granite of the peaks. The Leonheart believed that true strength was not blind fury (like a wild mane), but unwavering loyalty (like the firm grip of a paw). For this, their shields, all forged with the effigy of the lion, were not mere insignia, but vows: before the enemy, one does not move.
Kael was the embodiment of this vow. He had been sent on reconnaissance when rumors of the Iron Raiders began to spread among the merchants. When Kael positioned himself on a rocky ridge, his cobalt blue armor blended with the twilight shadows. He clutched his sword, The Proof, and pointed his shield towards the valley.
He did not move when he saw the column of smoke on the horizon. He did not bat an eye when he heard the heavy boots of the enemies echo on the pebbles below. He only moved when the vanguard of the Raiders was close enough to see the lion on his shield. Only then, with a growl that was not his own but the voice of a thousand years of oaths, Kael charged down, the azure of his armor a meteor of justice against the darkness.
He was not just one warrior; he was the wall that the Lion Clan had sworn to be. And the pass, once again, would be denied.
