Description

First off, HUGE thanks to Aptimex. Genuinely appreciative of their time and energy to make this available.

Outfitted the mount with an AMPS pattern so I could install a ball mount. This makes it compatible with existing mounting gear.

This is sized for #6 hex nuts and #6 bolts. I used nylon locking nuts.

The height has been raised to allow a captive hex nut. I know it looks a little weird, but it works.

There's a slight gap between the trim and the mount. Idk, it's not the end of the world.

You'll supports activated. To remove the supports in the bolt and nut holes, I used a pick. Anything long and skinny will work. Just poke at it, it'll come out eventually.

This has a little notch on the back side that fits perfectly into a notched slot on the Rav4 trim. The original from Aptimex had it, and I made it narrower. As such it's opinionated on where it sits on your dash, but also there's not many other places it can go. You'll see what I mean when you try to install it.

If you need to change the size of the nuts and bolts, I've attached the FreeCAD project file I used… and, apologies in advance, because I'm new to CAD modeling and the project structure is probably awful. If you don't have short enough bolts you may have to physically cut the bolts a little shorter with the bolt cutter like on generic wire strippers so it doesn't protrude past the mount and into the dash trim. That's not specific to this remix, that's just general advice I suppose.

This is installed in my 2014 Rav4 Limited (fancy). It should work with any Gen4 Rav4, 2013-2018.

Alright. Good luck out there.
