To achieve the best results with these lithophane ornaments, precise settings are key.

• Printer Type: FDM is ideal.
• Material: White PLA is highly recommended. It provides the best contrast and light transmission for lithophanes. Other light, translucent filaments can work but may alter the color of the image.
• Infill: 100% rectilinear or concentric infill. Lithophanes rely on solid infill to create the varying thicknesses.
• Walls (Perimeters): 2-3 walls. Ensure enough walls to make the outer shell solid.
• Print Orientation: Print standing upright (vertically) on the Z-axis. This is essential for proper lithophane quality, as it allows the printer to create the subtle thickness variations in layers, rather than across layers. You may need a brim or raft for stability.
• Brim/Raft: Highly recommended if printing vertically, especially for smaller footprints, to prevent tipping.
• Nozzle Temperature: Standard for your chosen PLA.

• Print Speed: Slow down for better detail! 30-40mm/s is a good starting point for lithophanes.
