Description
This is a parametric print-in-place hinged box that can be customized to your needs. You can easily adjust the following parameters:
- Box width
- Box depth
- Box height
- Number of compartment columns
- Number of compartment rows
The model prints in place and works right off the bed. No assembly required.
🧪 Print Tips
- Try the “Tiny” test box first
Among the included print profiles, there’s a Tiny version that prints in about 1 hour. It’s designed to help you verify that your printer is well-calibrated for the tolerances and overhangs used in this model.
👉 I strongly recommend printing this version first before committing to a larger box. - Dual-color printing
Some print profiles support two-color printing, so you can make the lid and bottom with a translucent filament while keeping the sides opaque.
My advice is to avoid mixing very different materials: I’ve printed dozens of these boxes, and the only adhesion issue I had was with an old silk PLA, which didn’t bond properly with the transparent filament (not sure if it was due to age or the "silk"). This model is particularly sensitive to bed adhesion issues. To minimize warping:
- Clean the build plate thoroughly according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Increase bed temperature slightly.
- Add a brim in your slicer.
⚠️ Do not disable the Auxiliary fan, as it helps for the hinges overhangs.
