🧶 Child-Friendly Crochet Fork – Easy to Learn Crocheting (Knitting Fork for Kids)

Description

This crochet fork (knitting fork) was specially developed for children's hands so that they can learn to crochet in a playful and safe way.
The idea came about because my 6-year-old daughter, at her school's all-day care, wanted a simple way "to crochet competitively".

With this small, handy fork, it's very easy:
No sharp needles, no complicated stitches – just fun, creativity, and a sense of achievement.
Ideal for first crochet projects, bracelets, necklaces, or colorful cords!

🧵 Instructions & Use

You need:

  • Yarn (not too thin – ideally weight 3–5)
  • The 3D-printed crochet fork
  • Optional: a blunt tapestry needle for finishing

Here's how it works:

  1. Place the yarn end between the two prongs of the crochet fork.
  2. Wrap the thread in a figure-eight (∞) around the prongs.
  3. With your fingers or a crochet hook, pull the bottom thread over the top one – this creates a stitch.
  4. Repeat this again and again:
    • Lay a new thread
    • Pull up from below
    • Form a stitch
  5. At the end, pull the thread through the last loop and gently tighten.
Your colorful crochet cord is ready!

💡 Tip:
With different colored yarn, great patterns emerge – perfect for bracelets, keychains, or shoelaces!
