MOB Optical Post Assembly

This optical post assembly is designed for the MOB (Modular Optical Breadboard) system, providing a versatile mounting solution for optical components, sensors, and other experimental hardware.

The post features an 8 mm nominal diameter shaft with a 1.5 mm radius semicircular thread profile and a 3 mm pitch, allowing for smooth, self-aligning engagement when used with compatible mounts or internal clamps. The larger thread form provides robust holding strength while maintaining compatibility with 3D-printable parts and standard mechanical tolerances.

The assembly includes a modular base, threaded post, and locking components that can be easily disassembled or reconfigured. It’s intended as an affordable, printable alternative to traditional optical post mounts—while remaining fully compatible with the 25 mm grid spacing and M6/M3 hardware standard of the MOB platform.
