Vibration Isolated Poop Chute
Print Profile(3)

Description
Avoids having a stationary poop collector attached to the vibrating printer.
Vibration isolated poop chute and optional tray for any but especially vibration dampened printers. The chute attaches magnetically to the printer, no feet, meaning no vibrations will transfer to the stationary collector tray.
Attaches with up to 13 magnets of all common sizes 6mm+. Not all needed. The shallower version requires more magnetic force for the added length and not touching the corner. Consider using stronger than 6x2mm magnets for this.
Wanting to optimize the magnetic field made me choose 6x2mm magnets, all 13, placed with alternating polarity. This setup, including tape, is more than strong enough in magnetic force.
Magnets sits slightly deeper than usual to avoid scratching your printer in case you don't use optional tape but I recommend you do. Preferrably a rubbery-like tape like the electrical tape I'm using or duct / gaffer tape that got some thickness or just 2-3 layer packing tape. Optimal is to have a vibration absorbing interface that protects against plastic particles rubbing off in the blasted aluminium surface finish on the corner of the side panels and no glue or magnet rubbing on the painted back panel.
Make sure to press magnets in fully, with some super glue, preferrably using a tool like the shaft of bed scraper which makes it way easier to apply force and saves fingers from glue.
You could also use double-sided foam tape instead of magnets but more inconvenient.
Chute alternatives:
- For higher setups like my Anti-Vibration Concrete Feet.
- For lower setups like with Bambu Anti-Vibration feet. Consider using stronger magnets than 6x2mm to compensate for the increased moment arm out the side and for not having support from contacting the corner like the higher version does.
Tray alternatives:
- Straight sides for use with any setup.
Tray with cutout for my Anti-Vibration Concrete Feet.
Both got generous inner radiuses → No corners for waste to get stuck.
PLA highly recommended! Because of the height and challenging geometry, the chance of warping is increased. Therefore PLA is almost a must and closed door and top will help bring temp to around 39c which should prevent any warping and support release. See picture #8.
