Description

As promised, here is the Bell 407. A bit of a random thing, but I really like designing helicopters, and this one looked challenging. It's color-separated so you can print the windows in a different color. I hate painting stuff, so I'll probably do a lot more designs in this style.

But still, it looks amazing. I guess I'm just that good. Assembly can be complex, but hopefully the images show enough to help you put it together. If you have any questions though, add a comment and I'll (maybe) remember to answer it.
sorry in advance...

NOTE: I printed this at 100% scale, and it works fine. The model is 200mm long, but some of the parts are a little finicky due to the size. If you don't have as much experience with printers or small parts, or it's just not printing well in generally, try scaling it up to 125%.

i'm not sure what the next upload will be, but i'm almost 90% sure it will be an aircraft

Body has failed on me 3 times. Im not sure why but it keeps getting knocked off the plate. 1st time was early on. second 2 times seem to be at the same spot. Still new to 3d printing so im not sure what is going wrong. P2S with PLA filament.

Same here, tried it three times (A1). Printed the fuselage horizontal, but that is not ideal considering the layer visibilty. Anyway, the model looks great!

Went into studio and separated the body from the tail piece. Then turned on strong tree supports. Printed just fine!! Added a little paint to make it a GSP chopper!!

Replying to @MrBarrel :
Im not sure what the problem was but separating the body from the tail piece and turning on strong tree supports worked for me on a P2S.

I had a problem printing the nacelle on both the h2d and the A1, at the same layer height while making the pilot's door, the extruder locks up and knocks the piece off the bed. I found a way to do the rest and it turned out well. The file is very good apart from this little problem

Thanks for the comment, I didnt have that problem during my prototype prints and I did about 10 to fine tune it. Only one print had a problem and the A1 bed slinger threw the fuselage off so I added a brim

Great model. I did change the layer to high quality 0.12 on a 0.4 nozzle and the result is beautiful. Easy to assemble as well. Thanks for the project.
