Description

Good day! Here is my entry to the current Master Challenge contest, a 3D printable model of HMS Warspite in its 1942 configuration.

Model is at 1:625 scale and are remodeled from the ground up based on the Warspite from the game World of Warships. Model is designed for FDM printing and maximum accessibility for common FDM printers, all while maintaining the necessary details to accurately depict the ship. Features includes:

  • Print in place main turret and secondaries with built in supports and moveable barrels.
  • Fits 256mm2 print bed.
  • Separate deck, upper, and lower hull to allow different colored print without AMS.
  • Sprues and mouse ears built into the smaller parts to guarantee bed adhesion (Sprueless version also available).
  • ~170gr of material.
  • Standee and nameplate for display.
  • Assembly guide included.

New additions and improvements for this Warspite model includes:

  • Snap lock barrel elevation so you can pose them however you like, thanks to redesigned internal barrel mechanism.

  • Engraved hull details using negative part. This is to better depict hull joints accurately (embossed version also available in the print profile)

  • Traverseable Casemate guns. Very much the ship's feature instead of a technical marvel, stays in place by sandwiching them with the main decks.

  • Mast riggings with wires. I figured out how to make slimmer riggings that also includes the wires spanning across them. I think this contributes greatly to how the ship looks. If you don't prefer them, a wire-less version is included as well.

Everything has been setup and modeled to accommodate FDM printers with default 0.4mm nozzle and without the use of AMS. So all you have to do is open the print profile and print each plate (I've changed the profile to per object printing to improve part quality)
