Description

fun and satisfying fidgets, 5 different shapes to choose from. Got some of the shape ideas from Jeff Mclain's screw mates i redesigned them from scratch with more clearance, different pitch and size. let me know if you have any other shape ideas

Update- i have noticed multiple people have had issues with the outer pieces printing so i have now created a new print profile for the outer pieces only with a brim and a slower print speed. Hope this helps.

Inside part printed perfect, the outside part all printed but something messed up that I see someone else had the same issue. All the parts still function correctly.

sorry to hear this, maybe if you haven't cleaned your bed in a while you could try cleaning it then try printing just one of the ones that messed up to see if it helps. if you still have that same issue I can try adding a profile with brim

Ok thanks, appreciate the feedback. I had a different print that failed as well and I just read about cleaning the bed. I had been wiping the bed down with 91% IPA between each print, but read using dish soap every once in awhile helps a lot. I just washed it and printing something again to see if that was the issue.

The inside prints fine, but the outside messed up twice. Here are some photos. I really like the file but can not sure it like this.

I am brand new to 3D printing. This was my first project, so everything was clean. I have since found many other things to print that do work with no problems.

ok, glad you found other models that worked but I have found that I have much more success with prints if I Clean print bed daily or before each print and try to avoid touching the plate

same here, I just went with sand clock print only; inside printed fine, but the outside messed up four times so far (at close to 80% done) with Bamboo Silk filament (for the last one, I reduced speed to half), my son liked it so much, giving it another try with a Matt filament this one last time. **P2S

Printed in various PLA silk and PLA. Had to force supports on the hourglass shaped one because it gets thicker after it gets thin in the middle and it would break consistently. Painting supports on the outside from 60-80% of the height gave it enough strength to allow it to complete. No issues with the other parts. If I did this again, I would size everything at 125%. looks good.

needed a bit of cleanup before they fit. might not be avoidable with the shape? I didn't try supports

which shape? I have found sometimes you just have to use it for a little bit then they work smoothly

the cylindrical towers, I had to sand them and then just push the parts back and forth a bit

can you make them more smaller

I don't know how that would work but you could try scaling it down to the size you want
