Description

I wanted to make a scale model of an Evektor EV-97, but there were no appropriate 3d models online, so i modeled the whole thing from scratch to my specifications.

Designed to be printed in pieces, glued together, sanded and painted according to your wishes

Propeller shaft was designed for 2 small ball bearings with inner diameter 3mm, outer diameter 6mm and 2.5mm thickness.

sanding is required to get the correct fit on the shaft.

cut the shaft to length by hand

i used a 6mm drill bit by hand to get the hole dimension right for the bearing

Nose section is hollow to allow a lead weight to avoid it sitting on its tail. ~50g weight needed, but test it before gluing it together by taping the sections together temporarily.

i make these models for the people i know at the local airfield. usually they are niche aircraft with no appropriate 3d models online so i have to make them from scratch. I've made a cessna 206 turbine and an eurofly fb5 for the pilots i know, since there's so p2008 at the airfield currently, i dont think i'm going to spend dozens of hours making it

How much time did you spend creating the airplane model? Did you use LiDAR scanning for it? Your Evektor model looks absolutely fantastic! I fly the Evektor SportStar, which is very similar to the EV-97, so I’m really grateful for the work and time you put into designing it :)

hard to tell, really. i work on these on and off, but i think i could get a similar model done in a week, so ~40 hours. I did a cessna 172 aswell, but with that i took an existing model intended for flight sims and just made it printable. with the evektor i found a front, side and top view image and based it on that. i've been working on an eurofly fb5, but that has zero technical drawings online, so i took a bunch of pictures of it on the airfield and based it on those. not perfect, but it looks like the plane, which is what i'm going for. i've been looking at getting a busted iphone with a functional lidar scanner, just to see if it could work for my porpuse. all of my planes are moddeled in blender from scratch more or less

could you make this compatible with an A1 printer.

the regular a1 has the same size print bed as my p1s. if you have the a1 mini, you can import the geometry and scale it down enough to fit

I thought so but it says it’s incompatible. I will do some more research on how to get this done. thanks.

Obviously, the idea was to request your contact information to see if it was possible to pay you to design the model, not for free.
