Description

I was asked to design a crown for a theater. After a number of iterations I came up with this design. It requires some assembly. The slots are designed snug. Once assembled it appears to hold really well. I haven't had to use any glue on mine, other than for the Gems, though those fit snug as well, but I didn't want to risk it. We found the element most likely to get damaged is the cross. So i've created that as a part that can be unscrewed and replaced without much effort.

I found the best way to print the struts are on the side, so that the layers are applied vertically, for better strength.

Great modeling, everything fits perfectly. Thanks for all the effort. Pic attached of outcome. Printed in black pla for all but jewels. A can of gold Rustoleum got it gold. Threw in some fabric and made a simple retention ring to secure it in and then added some weld on 16 glue around the perimeter. Holds perfectly and is clean looking from the inside too.

I'm in the middle of printing this for my son's school project, and I see that you mentioned possibly designing a scepter that matched. Any chance you have the scepter designed but not published yet?

It is April 2nd, so just under 2 weeks. It would be amazing if you could design it, and I would happily send pictures. He is doing a paper and dressing up as Charlemagne, Holy Roman Emperor of Europe.

I love the crown, I printed it without any problems, thank you so much. However, do you have the models for the stones that are on the crown? Thank you very much

That's great to hear! I'm glad it worked out well for you. I'm so sorry. I did a poor job titling the profile with the Gems. They can be found in that second profile up above. All the gems should be there. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with.

Looks like when the jewels were uploaded, it purged the crown itself.

there should be two profiles. one is the crown and the other is the jewels. I thought I changed the profile image to reflect that. I’ll take a look. thanks for the heads up!

Got it. Via app, the p1s profile only had the jewels, so thats all that showed up for me. I see it in the other profiles though. Thanks BTW for sharing.
