Light box R // Build your own words, modular & LED

This letter R is part of my modular light box series.
All files contain everything you need to build your own lettering – whether for decoration, a gift, or as a stylish LED sign.

💡 Included in each file:

• Various boxes for standing, hanging, or combinable as needed
• Letter cover (here: R)
• Connectors (for threading LED strips & coupling the boxes)
• Cover for the beginning & end of the lettering
• Cable duct for clean routing

📐 Box size: 12 × 12 × 5 cm (L×W×H)

🔗 Boxes can be connected horizontally or vertically → creating flexible, arbitrarily long lettering.

📐 Print recommendations & lighting:

• Diffuser (front plate) in PLA White for optimal light diffusion
• Frame & letter in black or a contrasting color
• Printed on a textured PEI plate → for a nice indirect effect
• Or on a smooth PEI plate → lets more light through, for a brighter glow

Lighting:

• Distribute LED strips over a large area in the box (self-adhesive recommended)
• For a mobile version, RGB tea lights are suitable, which can be attached to the back with strong double-sided tape

🛠️ Assembly:

1. Insert connectors sideways into the box (let them protrude about halfway).
2. Attach the next box to the connectors.
3. Adhere LED strips and route them through the connectors from one box to the next.
4. Finally, insert the letter cover.

✨ Simply print, assemble, illuminate – done!
