Ford Maverick Leaf Baskets

Description
The Issue
Leaves and pine needles that land on the Ford Maverick windshield eventually get washed out from the basin below the wipers. From there it either ends up loose in the engine bay or behind the front wheels. If you open the front door and look past the lower hinge, you can see the accumulation spot, but it's hard to clean out.

The Solution
So I designed these baskets that strain all of the windshield runoff and collect the leaves and pine needles. They clip onto a bracket inside the engine bay near the hood hinges and an optional magnet will also help hold them in place. You will still need to clean the baskets out once or twice a year, but it's very easy to access with the hood open. The photo below shows one installed on the driver side, looking just below the hood hinge where the engine bay meets the fenders.

Printing and Installation Notes
- The temperature inside the engine bay can get pretty hot, so these should be printed in a high temp filament. PLA will warp in there.
- There are L / R labels embossed on each basket for driver's left and driver's right. Make sure you install it on the correct side. This part goes in the back corners of the engine bay, one at each end of the windshield basin.
- Maneuvering these into place can be tricky because of the tight space. Focus on getting them into the back corner cavity (just above and behind the wheels) first, then attach them to the vertical bracket, then slide them down flush against the plastic drain. See video below.
- There is a pocket for an optional magnet to help hold it in place and keep it from rattling. It will fit anything up to 30 x 15 x 6.4 mm
I can confirm that these fit model years from 2022 to current (2025). If you are from the future and the design is not compatible with your Maverick, let me know and I’ll update that information here.
