Description

2" Seat riser kit for Lifetime Tamarack Pro Kayaks

These reuse the stock hardware, so you don't need any hardware to install these. Be careful not to overtighten the stock mounting screws! The screws for the front risers thread directly into the plastic of the Kayak, and can easily strip the plastic if overtightened.

Front mounts are directional, the rougher looking side (top layer), is designed with an angle to butt up against the Kayak side. The smooth side (bottom layer) for each will face inwards when installing. The seat should snap into the front risers without excessive force. I wanted to keep the clamping force on the lighter side to avoid damaging the mounting screw threads when removing the seat. I don't believe there should be a need for a heavy clamping force with the added angle. In my tests they feel very secure on the water, and I have no problem leaning back into my seat.

The rear risers just slide on the back of the seat, and have been designed with an opening to provide a consistent clamping force. This keeps them from easily falling off when removing the seat, but they will still rotate. I added an optional screw hole on the rear risers, this would allow someone to drill into their seat and fix the rear risers in place with a #10 screw. This is not required, it's only an option. I have not fixed mine into place and they still function great.

I designed and tested these risers on a Lifetime Tamarack Pro 103 Kayak. However, I believe they will work for a few other Lifetime Kayaks, that appear to share the same seat mounting cavities. I'll make a list below of the ones I'm aware of that look the same. If I missed any, or if someone tests the risers on one of these Kayak's, let me know how they worked and I'll update the list to help others.

Risers verified to work on:

  • Tamarack Pro 103

Unverified, but looks like they might work:

  • Tamarack Pro 123
  • Kenai Pro Angler 100
  • Teton Angler 100
  • Enclave Angler 103

Any support is greatly appreciated!

how would I go about making them 2in higher? would like more clearance for a box under it.

This might be something I could offer, but in my opinion, the stock mounting screws are not sufficient for taller risers, as they are only held by plastic threads cut into the Kayak itself. With the dry box near the seat, we might be able to reach under the mounts and add washers & lock nuts, along with longer mounting bolts. I'd be much more confident that this would hold up. I'll look into this, but it's probably not something I can get to right away, and with redesigning, printing, and testing, it may take a while.

no problem I wouldn't worry about it. I would say it would make the yak wants to flip with higher seat.

I agree... then could put a few tackle bins under of most used casting lures.
