Description
The Corner
The hallway narrowed, pressing in with damp stone and the scent of old battles. Up ahead, a corner loomed—sharp, shadowed, and silent.
The elf cocked his head, eyes narrowing. He raised a hand for silence, listening to something none of the others could hear. The group froze. Even the wizard held his breath.
After a moment, the elf signaled that he would scout ahead.
They watched him move—light as mist, silent as moonlight. Despite the rubble strewn across the floor, his steps made no sound. It was like watching a ghost glide above the earth.
He reached the corner and peered around.
Then he stiffened.
He pivoted back toward the group, his fair complexion somehow paler than before. His eyes were wide, his face unreadable. He motioned frantically: Don’t move. Don’t speak.
He crossed the rubble again, just as silently, returning to the group with impossible grace.
The wizard and barbarian stared in awe.
Wizard (whispering):
"Remarkable."
The barbarian stuck a finger in his ear, frowning.
Barbarian (muttering):
"Is it me, or did he make no sound?"
Bek, more observant and less impressed, watched the elf closely. He saw something in the elf’s eyes—unease, maybe even fear. But when their eyes met, it was gone.
The barbarian began to grin, ready to comment on the elf’s stealth, but the dwarf calmly laid a hand on his forearm. The barbarian turned, puzzled. Bek simply shook his head and raised a finger to his lips.
The elf leaned in, his voice a musical whisper—like the hush of wind through forest leaves.
Elf (softly):
"He caught them. The three minotaur. He’s... taking trophies."
The group didn’t speak. They didn’t need to.
They turned as one and began to edge back into the dungeon, away from the corner, away from him.
Then it happened.
The barbarian stepped on a piece of shale. It cracked under his weight, shifting with a grating sound that echoed far too loudly.
The group froze. Breath held. Muscles tense.
The silence was deafening.
Then, from around the corner, a voice called out—cheerful, familiar, and soaked in blood.
the chaos warrior, Martin Silverthorn (calling):
"Eh guys, is that you?"
The group turned sharply, eyes wide.
Then came a sound none of them expected.
A low growl.
From the elf.
They snapped their heads toward him—but his face was unchanged. Calm. Composed. As if nothing had happened.
It must have been the dungeon. The acoustics. The rocks.
It had to be.

This is the corner hallway for the 1995 tabletop game War Hammer Quest (similar to Hero Quest)
you will need 1 corner. I have made a smoother version and a rough version.
I was really not sure that I liked the rough one till I printed a test piece and even then was not really sure. Then I painted it. I think it looks great for a fantasy cave/dungeon floor. Better than the smooth one.
I included 2 test pieces that are 2x2 so you can print them off (and they are still usable pieces) to see what one you like. Or do as I did and just print a mix of different pieces - just because you can!!
I printed all the pieces flat. If you wanted to get rid of the layer lines you could rotate the model and print it at a 45degree angle (make sure you support it to reduce failures)
This was printed with Bambu Matte Grey on a .2mm nozzle @ .1mm layer height. Feel free to use a .4mm and drop the layer height down to .08mm (it will give a warning but will print fine) or keep it at .1mm. Think of it as a “choose your own adventure” and choose the nozzle size and layer height of your own preference.
I did use regular support under the model to keep it a bit cleaner but you do not have to, especially if you are printing on a .4mm nozzle.
I have 2 versions. a rough and smooth cave floor. I may come back and add some with cracked and regular floor tiles but that is in the future
Cheers!!
