Medusa Statue for 3D Printing
Another statue of the Greek goddess Medusa, in this case in a more upright posture. The model is divided into parts for easier painting and assembly.
Medusa (from Ancient Greek Μέδουσα Médousa, "guardian", "protector") was a chthonic female monster who turned to stone those who gazed upon her. She was decapitated by Perseus, who used her head as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena for placement on her shield, her aegis. Since classical Greek antiquity, the image of Medusa's head has been depicted in the Gorgoneion, an artifact that wards off evil. The myth may have originated from the abolition of the cults to the Carian Moon goddess and the Libyan Neith, in which priestesses wore gorgon masks.
