Description

Ikea discontinued the much loved and hackable Fira back in 2011. This is a re-imagined version for 3d printing. This is a rather large print consuming about 2.3kg of filament. Best printed on a H2d with PETG and PLA supports. 

Assembly order. 

  1. Combine the 2 part frame pieces together. (top, bottom, 2x middle, and back). A rubber mallet can be useful. 
  2. Use super glue and glue in lock piece into the 2 part frame pieces
  3. Build the box in this order : 
    1. connect the left and right pieces into the bottom frame. 
    2. Add the back frame 
    3. Followed by the top. 
    4. Finally add the middle frames.

 

If desired, add super glue to lock the pieces together,
