Description

Hi everyone,

This is my first project here! I recently bought a Hyundai Ioniq 5 for my wife after her previous car stopped working. It’s the base model, so it doesn't come with a wireless charger. I searched online, both here and on other sites, but I couldn't find anything aesthetically pleasing and functional. So, I decided to design my own from scratch and print it myself, and of course, I want to share the model with this amazing community.

 

So far, here’s what I’ve achieved:

**BASE:** I used the original rubber mat as a template to recreate the anchor points, ensuring the base doesn’t move around.

**TOP:** I created a custom top that includes anchor points to secure it to the base, featuring the Ioniq 5 logo (why not?).

**BORDER:** I also designed a border to prevent the phone from shifting.

 

MATERIALS:

**BASE: ** I used black carbon fiber PETG from Bambu. Any PETG should be fine; ABS is better, but it’s in a sweet spot inside the car, not directly exposed to the sun, so there's really nothing to worry about.

**TOP:** I used the AMS TPU from BAMBU, and it fit very nicely, providing a bit of grip to hold the phone in place during the ride. However, it's not mandatory to use TPU; you can also print it in PETG or ABS if TPU is not available.

**BORDER:** Same as the base, I used black carbon fiber PETG from Bambu. 

 

No special skills or tools are required to assemble the entire wireless charger; everything fits perfectly.

For the wireless charger, I’m using the Belkin BoostCharge Pro, which is capable of 15W. According to my tests, it doesn’t overheat too much and is one of the best options for this DIY project.

It fits perfectly in the middle hole, providing ample space for any cable. The border holds the cable in place nicely.

I hope you like this project! It was really fun to work on, and it took me about a day and a half of testing and attempts before reaching this version. I’m open to any comments or suggestions for improvement for the next version, as this is my first shared project, and I genuinely want to improve if given the opportunity.
