Description

Move your Navigator trackball to your thumb!

Please see our blog post for detailed instructions and videos on repurposing the magnets of the Navigator and the Voyager tenting legs for this project.

This project includes a number of files to choose from depending on your desired setup. The 3MF file includes multiple plates, each with a common configuration (you do not need to print all plates, just one), or you can use the individual STL files.

All plates include one shell for mounting the Navigator Core (the trackball and cradle) in and a reverse shell for the other half of the board that does not include a Navigator mount, but gives you the same level of tenting.

If you plan to use the Navigator on your desk
You have two recommended options:

  1. Print one of the plates without magnets at all.
  2. Print one of the mixed magnet plates.

The prints without magnets are self explanatory. Just line up the mounting holes with the underside of your Voyager and you're good to go. This setup works if you don't plan to move your board around much and don't want to fiddle with magnets.

The mixed magnet prints use the default Navigator magnet and two of the default Voyager leg magnets to attach the prints to your Voyager.

If you plan to use this shell with a tripod mount
I have updated the files to include left and right versions that are specifically compatible with the tripod mount, so you can just print this for the side you want the Navigator on. They change the angle of the core very slightly to get everything to fit but are otherwise the same. Note that you will need to install the magnets before plugging in any cables with this design.
