Sharps Disposal Box
Print Profile(2)

Description
05/18/26 New flat disposal lid with no openings has been added as a new print profile!
This 3D printed sharps box is designed with a functional locking lid and cover system that balances ease of use with safety.
- Locking Lid: The lid frame securely snaps onto the container, holding it firmly in place.
- Hinged Cover: The cover swings freely on a hinge, making it simple to open for disposal.
- Snap-Closure: A cantilever point keeps the cover shut until the sides are pressed in to release it.
- Clear Marking: “SHARPS” text on the cover makes its purpose obvious.
I originally designed this container for my own use in Indiana to store sharps from diabetes supplies. While it works well for that purpose, it’s important to understand the rules around sharps disposal in your area:
- State Requirements: Not every state allows home disposal of sharps containers. Before using this model, please verify whether it meets your state’s regulations.
- Best Practice: The safest and most reliable option is always to take filled containers to an official sharps disposal facility. Tape the box shut for extra security.
- Find Facilities Near You: Use safeneedledisposal.org to quickly locate nearby drop-off locations.
⚠️ Disclaimer: This model is provided for educational, demonstration, or personal convenience purposes only. It is not a certified medical device. Always follow local laws and medical safety guidelines when disposing of sharps.
