Long Nine – Naval Cannon

Over 200 years ago, the "Long Nine" was a feared naval cannon that decided entire sea battles with its length and precision. Inspired by this historical model, I designed a modern miniature version for 3D printing – true to detail, functional, and with a wink

There are two variants:

  • Classic – simple and robust, just as they stood on the decks of frigates back then
  • Optimized – with improved geometry for more stability and better traction when firing

Both models are entirely printable in PLA and achieve a range of over 4 meters – perfect for small everyday skirmishes

Boost Me (for free)

A small boost from you gives me tailwind for new crazy ideas and ensures that even more people can start their office naval battles

Possible Uses

  • Ideal for mini office naval battles – whoever first boards a colleague's desk wins
  • As a funny gimmick, you can even shoot a Haribo gummy bear – for the sweetest kind of artillery

Material Note

  • PLA / PLA+: completely sufficient to reliably achieve the +4m range
  • Silk filament: looks noble, but is softer – this reduces the range
  • PETG: somewhat stiffer and more dimensionally stable, which slightly increases the range

The Long Nine – Naval Cannon combines historical charm with modern 3D printing engineering. Whether as a collector's item, toy, or conversation starter: it guaranteed brings fun, talking points, and a smile to every battle
