Chakram - Indian throwing weapon
Print Profile(1)

Description
The chakram is a throwing weapon from the Indian subcontinent. It is circular with a sharpened outer edge and a diameter of 12–30 centimetres (4+1⁄2–12 inches). It is also known as chalikar meaning "circle", and was sometimes referred to in English writings as a "war-quoit". The chakram is primarily a throwing weapon, but can also be used hand-to-hand.
This model is close to the traditional design as worn by Sikh warriors, not the more modern computer gaming design or the Zena chakram throwing weapon of the Warrior Princess TV series.
I used the image from https://www.mandarinmansion.com/item/heavy-sikh-chakram and entered it into Image-to-3D from MakerWorld (https://makerworld.com/makerlab/imageTo3d). I downloaded and imported the mesh into Bambu Studio (the detail of the design is partially lost in this process but makes for an easier more generic print).
As a monochrome print an AMS is not required. Would advise caution with silk PLA, interlayer adhesion is a little risky with this medium and the supports that are quite tall may fail. You will see a significant portion of the print material is consumed in supports, however they are easily removed. I angled the model at 70 degrees so the surface detail would not be lost (as it would be if printed flat).
I made this for my grandson for use in a history project. I am not a designer so cannot offer support with changes but feel free to play with your own print settings, resizing and orientation changes.
