📄 Description:

This full 3D-printable chess set is inspired by the classic Staunton style and complies with official FIDE tournament dimensions (king height: 95 mm).
The design refreshes the traditional look with cleaner lines and an ergonomic knight, requiring minimal supports.

♟️ About the set:

As a chess player and enthusiast, I wanted to create a set that truly reflects my personal taste.
Each piece was designed with the goal of making the playing experience pleasing and satisfying, both to move and to look at.
I aimed to create pieces that feel great in the hand, are well-balanced, and have a strong presence on the board — modernized, yet faithful to the Staunton style.

Main Features:

  • Tournament-ready design – FIDE compliant
  • King height: 95 mm
  • Full set including double queens (extra queens not counted in total weight)
  • Optimized for minimal supports
  • Designed for optional internal weighting (~1100 g for 32 main pieces)

🧱 Optional Internal Weighting (Recommended):

To achieve a realistic total weight of around 1100 grams, you can insert metal hex nuts into each piece during or after printing.

Suggested configuration:

PieceNutsApprox. Weight
Pawn1× M12~25 g
Bishop1× M12 + 1× M8~37 g
Rook1× M12 + 1× M8~37 g
Knight2× M12~52 g
Queen2× M12~52 g
King2× M12~56 g

You will need:

  • 44× M12 nuts
  • 8× M8 nuts

Before gluing, it is recommended to screw in the caps. Use silicone or PLA glue to fix them inside.

🔧 Tip:
Attach green felt pads to the base of each piece for a professional look and smooth, quiet movement on the board.
