Description
The Adamant is essentially the “workhorse” of the Colonial Fleet. It doesn’t excel at any one thing, but it’s tough, affordable, and adaptable. When deployed in numbers, it can form the backbone of a fleet, screening against enemy light craft, supporting squadrons, and holding the line until the heavy hitters finish the fight.
Background
- Designed by Sinon Quade of Anvil Shipyards about a decade before the First Cylon War.
- Created as a cost-effective, versatile escort ship to reinforce the Colonial Fleet’s numbers.
- Because of its balance of durability and flexibility, it became one of the most common ship classes in Colonial service during the early years of the war.
