7-inch Case with Handle PIP

09/26 Edit: Added new profiles that have the handle and clasp new being printed on a separate plate, so now you can print the case in 2 colors without an AMS.   Or you can have the AMS just color the text, which is about 40 filament changes, instead of hundreds.  

Also added profile of the case that is scaled down to 80%.  Please read the descriptions for these new profiles in the profile descriptions. 

Large Strong case with Handle.  Makes a cool Gift Box.

I have printed these in Bumbu filaments PLA, PETg HF, and ABS.  

This is a large part, so be sure your printing plate is clean, DRY, and apply glue.  

Print Settings:

2 loops, 15% infill, no support.

0.4mm Nozzle

Features:

• PIP
• Handle
• 2 Snap Latches.
• Upper Tray.
• Can be scaled to down to 80%.  Uses about half the filament as full scale.  The hinges and clasp are tighter but will loosen with use.  (Most of my prototypes were printed this way.)
• Text is customizable in Bambu Studio.  Just double click on the text to edit.

• Size: Outside dimensions 7 x 3.6 x 3.6 inches [177.7 x 91.44 x 91.44 mm]

After Printing and the case has cooled:

• Latches may be tight to snap in for the first few times.  You can snap them in and out several times to loosen them up.

   

• Each of the boxes has a small bit of material connecting the lid and base during the print process.  This helps to stabilize the lid, making sure the hinges print good.  These breaks lose when you flip the lid closed for the first.  Use a scraper, blade, or fingernail to remove them.
