Description
This is an ancient Chinese padlock designed to keep thieves out even if they had the key as it is the clever movement to insert the key that make this key effective as opposed to the design of the actual key
I originally designed this after seeing a zacdfilms video on YouTube showing the mechanism and after a couple of prototypes this is what i came up with. to solve it follow these steps. Be careful though, it is also a puzzle if you want to solve it yourself instead of seeing how to solve it don't click this link
when printing, you can slice the mechanism into two parts at 2.7cm upwards. as shown in the pictures or you can use supports for the entire thing
each piece may need slight amounts of sanding to ensure it runs smoothly as pieces need to be incredibly precise
i recommend a 0.4mm nozzle, 10% infill, enable supports.
before gluing the top half to the bottom half, ensure that the key works, if it doesnt then you may have left supports on the shackle pins which prevent the bolt from being removed
