Description
My kids wanted a keyed mini safe, and I wasn't happy with the options. I hope this one is fun and easy for others to make! The lock design is print in place. The key stays in the lock when the door is unlocked, acting as a handle. There are minimal supports and no hardware needed. Three different key shapes are provided, just for fun (all work in the same lock).
To assemble:
First remove supports from the lock arm, the lock groove, and under the hinges.
- Attach the door to the main safe by hooking it over the hinge rods.
- Insert the 2 hinge stoppers above each hinge.
- You're ready to use the safe! Always leave the key in while the safe is unlocked, it is held captive. If the lock arm falls down while the safe is open but the lock is in the locked position, just push it up with the tip of the key or a small screwdriver. I don't recommend locking the lock with the door open.
