D5x2 mm Round Magnet (20PCS) - CA003

Description

I modified an existing Pip-boy model to have two separate pieces to make taking it on and off easier. Magnets and straps help keep the pieces in place and on your wrist.

The model uses twenty-six 5x2 mm magnets, which should be glued in place (e.g. with super glue). These help the two pieces snap together around your wrist, and keep it in place under light movement. The magnets aren't strong enough to hold entirely on their own if you're waving your hand around, though. If the intended use of the Pip-boy is an active event (e.g., walking around a con all day), I would also recommend using metal clasps, as pictured. (E.g., https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J6SZSNT?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1). At least two (one each for the front and back) should work--again, super glue worked great for affixing them. Alternatively, another user suggested gluing  bigger magnets (such as these: amazon.com/dp/B0CZMSHN4F?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&) to the top & bottom of the inner wall.

There are slots for two internal straps to attach the Pip-boy securely to your wrist. I used one-way velcro bands for straps (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DMT1HRZC?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1), but really any sort of strap should work. I bought one inch wide ones, but had to cut them slightly to fit. So 0.75 or 0.8 inches would probably be the best width to order.

Optionally, you can also tie a strap around the hinge looking part on the outside for extra strength (see pictures). This is highly recommended if you don't use metal clasps.

The narrowest hole in the Pip-Boy has a three inch internal diameter, so as long as your wrist fits in that you should be able to wear this without resizing. I printed these for our entire cosplay group in the same size.

I used acrylic paint markers to add a few details to mine.

EDIT: if using a different slicing software, make sure to use the .3mf file rather than the .stl, otherwise the holes for magnets won't show up.
