Horizontally hinged windows are audacious… If you only need a small opening, the wind quickly closes them, and if you open them completely, a hurricane-force wind sweeps through the room, not to mention the cat escaping

Therefore, I was looking for some creation that would solve the problem. What I found either didn't fit what I needed or I simply wasn't convinced by the design

Finally I found this:

by @Roman

A design that limited the opening for vertically hinged windows. Although it was missing some parts, I almost completely remade it to adapt it for horizontally opening windows and to be able to choose the amount of opening

I designed the missing fastening piece

I designed a pivoting base, because the more the horizontal casement window sash opens, the more tilt angle you need in the retaining rod

An axle that facilitates this pivoting function, between the base attached to the window frame and the base piece of the retaining rod

I created a second pivoting base, but limited in angle on one side. I did this so that the limiter would not interfere when closing the window and break accidentally. In this case, good placement of this piece must be taken into account, as it cannot be too far from the attachment pivot (as it would not reach it) nor too close to the pivot (as it would interfere with the window closing)

I designed 3 retaining rods of different sizes, each with 3 anchor points, as I have found that a large number of anchor points is not needed. Choose the length of the rod you want to print based on how much or how little you want the window open. I recommend the 184.50 mm one, which is shown in the images. Once installed, one of the 3 anchor points on the window is selected

I also adapted some measurements so that when not in use, it would be properly folded vertically)

I beveled all the pieces for a more pleasing finish

The fastening pieces have holes for screwing, although they work well with good double-sided tape. In my case, I installed them like this with an adhesive reinforcement. To this day, everything is still working correctly

I have printed all the pieces as shown in the slicer images. Some required minimal supports
