Hello everyone, as promised, here is a technical evolution of my previous spring car. This one is equipped with a reversing mechanism that is activated by the bumpers. When the car hits an obstacle, it goes in the opposite direction. It is 100% 3D Printed

No glue, no hardware, no tools! Printing is simple and support-free, it is imperative to respect a layer height of 0.12mm for all parts with threads and tapped holes, the rest is printed at 0.2mm. You will print the only tool you will need (a 10mm hex wrench with a flathead screwdriver at its end)

Assembly is quite simple but it will be necessary to follow the assembly instructions to the letter or the assembly video :

. The mechanism is more complex than a simple spring car and it is mandatory to use a lubricant for optimal operation of your car (on the axles, gears, and bumper mechanism. The use of an aerosol lubricant gives better results). A check of each part after printing is strongly advised (to combat printing defects): gear teeth, axle passage, free rotation of each part, flatness of the gears and chassis parts... This check before assembly will save you time

If you have never performed mechanical assembly, I advise you to start with a simpler model : https://makerworld.com/en/models/1783036-spring-car-wind-up-mechanism-4x4#profileId-1899554

The tires must be printed in TPU but TPU for AMS and 95A will not work because you will not be able to insert them onto the rims. I use 60A TPU for better grip. You can replace the TPU tires with O-rings, small rubber bands, or pieces of bicycle inner tube. (Rim base Ø: 38mm)

Prefer printing the spring in Bambu PLA Basic (Matte and Silk do not work well). For better performance, you can also print the spring in PETG, ABS, or PLA CF. (I have a preference for ABS)

If you have assembled this model with ease and want to move to the next level, check out : https://makerworld.com/en/models/733706-hot-rod-v8-spring-engine#profileId-665458

The spring mechanism makes the car move forward and the V8 turn!!!

Have fun!!!

Most of the components of this model are compatible with my previous car, so you can swap parts (complete mechanism and wheels)
