Description

Designed as a fast sinker. Cavity for weight is big enough to use 8*60mm steel dovel or rod. my rod weighs 24grams so if you want a slowsinker, just add less weight…

uses screw in eylets 1,5*25mm, be carefull screwing them in. cylinders making the holes might snap.. you can always add more walls in those areas in bambustudio before printing. but it works great for me as is :)

if you opt for less weight, play around with center of gravity, and please let me know how it behaves for you :) I have yet to tried that.

the further aft  you put the weight, the more erraticly it will behave…

UPDATED: Now there are two new versions that prints flat. One is the same as the original, the other is for TROUGH-WIRE.

I made myself a small series in various colors they are pleasant to paint and to weight I weighted them with 8mm lead discs to achieve a total of 25g as indicated in the description On one of them I left the movable bar to see if this can assist with casting thanks to mass transfer

wow! great looking paint job! Do report back about the weight transfer! I have used magnets in the front to get the weight back to its proper location in some other designs (primarily in smaller lures). but not tried it in these. In a Jerkbait it might be nice to have the weight further back to get an even more erratic swim. thanks for rating :)

I've just started printing the lure, for a slow sink what do you recommend I do

Kind of hard to know… depends on how thick layers of coating you put on them.. 10grams of steel weight should be enough..do you fish in freshwater or saltwater? In freshwater you can aim for a total weight of 60-65 grams for slowsinking. I usually start by making one ”prototype” without any additional weights, just the print, all hardware, paint, eyes and topcoat. Then i measure the total displacement in regular tapwater… just put a container of water on a scale, zero the scale, then submerge all of the lure using a pair of pliers. The scale will then tell you how much the lure displaces…compare that to what the lure weighs.then i now how much weight i can put in them for floating or sinking endresults…

I fish in freshwater and would like to target pike and for the print I haven't modified anything in your project printed in PETG from Amazon currently only the print weighs 41.23g and I haven't added eyelets and weights yet do you think I should test how much weight it displaces in freshwater and base my decisions on that

Depending on how precise you like to tweak the rate of descent you can go different routs. if you really want to be precise, you should do a complete assembly with all hardware and clearcote before testing its displacement, everything with a volume will add to the displacement... Check displacement of you complete build. Weigh your complete build. the difference between those measurements will determine the behavior. if they displacement is higher than the weight the lure will float If you want it to sink, add weight. here is a starting point for you. slow 5%-15% medium 15%-25% fast >25% My complete builds weigh 80grams, and the displacement is 55gram, Wich is 45% added weight. so I have fast sinking lures..

Would there be a two-part version? To access the inside for placing marbles (ratlin)

No, not on this one. it's only printed in one piece. but you can always do it yourself in Bambustudio. Split and add negative detail in a good place. alternatively, insert a pause and drop in some balls.. :)

can you create one that’s 50% the size? Love the full-size but would also love to have half size

I uploaded an stl at 50% maybe you can tinker with it and make your own printfile?

Thank you for the great feedback! and boost :) No, I have not tried that. I enjoy painting a little bit too much :) but I could of course prepare one for you to test. I believe it is better to make the patterns directly in cad instead of manually paint it in Bambu studio. Is there a specific pattern you would like?

Yes, I have thought about making support stencils, but I don't really know how to do it😅 The reason I asked about multi-color PLA is that you build an interesting base, for example, gold/copper Bought 8mm steel balls to weight them differently It makes a heavy, dull rattling sound, which I think works well for pike I have also scaled it down to 6cm to use for perch, if it even works
