Description

What is it good for? If you ever want to use your Bafang BBSHD with a 36T chainring at the front, with gear ranging from small to large, like 11T-46T, you will face chain drops in high gear. Due to the long chain, it can fall off easily in low gear. I did not find any solution to this problem on the market, so here is a working approach. I would also recommend this to be installed even if you don't have a wide cassette, since your drivetrain will be more reliable. You won't have a chain drop anymore, and you can use the low and high gear with confidence.

Assembly

The following screws are necessary for assembly:M4 Screws (4mm wide) for all. Works with multiple lengths.

3 Pieces: 50–56 mm long (preferably with a hexagonal end to be able to drive them in easier with a wrench)

2–4 Pieces 18–20 mm for mounting to the BBSHD's left side

2 Pieces 15–20 mm for the Optional Airtag Mounter

Washers are optional

  • You may want to prerill the holes with a 4mm drill bit. Do not drill the holes which are meant to squeeze the parts into each other. The screws will carve their path into the plastic
  • You may need to sand the plastic a bit where the chain goes into the model, so it won't make a sound in high gear.

Feel free to use the model to tweak it to your setup. The Step file will be attached.

Models are pretty basic without fillets. Some holes may not be in the perfect place, but you should be able to do the installation firmly regardless.
