Civic Type R FL5 Rear Roof Lining Dashcam Bracket

This is a Honda Civic Type R FL5 rear roof lining bracket for mounting rear-channel dashcam securely. This bracket grabs on to the drain gutter channel piece behind the roof (while allowing the factory rubber seal to cover over it) and is a single piece that comes down to under the roof lining, allowing you to then mount the rear-channel dashcam on the flat surface.

I created this bracket because I didn't want to go the traditional installation route which don't really work well on the Civic Type R FL5 because it requires you to fish the wiring through the plastic trim piece that is moulded to the actual tailgate itself, and it also requires you to cut/slit a hole on the cover trim to route the wiring out. Many owners do not want to damage the factory trim, so this option requires no cutting and no holes.

For easy installation, please follow these steps as the order and direction will help:

1.Lift up the factory seal where you want the bracket to go. This will reveal the rain gutter channel piece that the bracket will grab on to.
 

2.Angle the bracket like in the below picture as it will help with the installation

3. There are multiple layers of lips on the rubber seal, there are two closest to you, with the outside lip (closest to you) is what goes over and cover the roof lining, the second lip (thicker) seals against the gutter. You want to take that second lip and insert it into the U-channel on the bracket. You have to do this first because this lip is the hardest to get into the bracket. 
 

4. Next step is to hook the bracket onto the rain gutter channel. Once it is clipped onto the rain gutter channel, you can go ahead and push the bottom flat surface up against the roof lining and it should now grab everything securely.

5. Make sure the outer lip is covering the roof lining, if the white foam inner part of the lining is showing, you can align them by lightly squeezing them against the rubber seal like below photos
