Description

My electric garage door has optical sensors to check for obstructions while opening or closing.

These sensors are often fooled by ambient light, reflections, or even passing shadows.

To better control light entering the sensor, I wanted to create something that limits the interference.

I used Fusion 360 and made this clip on garage door sensor shield.

It requires no additional parts, and simply snaps onto the mounts for my garage door sensors.

I've printed them out of white PLA to better survive our brutal desert sun.

Printed with supports on build plate only, these should simply press onto the sensor mounts.  Double check your alignment, and you should be good to go.

Enjoy!
