Description

Boost Me (for free)

A universal Phone, Tablet, Nintendo Switch holder for the rear of cars with any kind of front seat including fixed headrest that have no other solution for attaching a mount. This is the only mount I've found that will fit almost every car.

There's a phone only up to 100mm (4") clamp size and a phone/tablet size with up to a 230mm (9") clamp size.  You can also use the Bambu Studio cut tool to cut the threaded piece to a custom length. It should fit most devices with screens 13" and below.  Most devices in cases should fit. If you want the clamps to be more grippy you can stick on some adhesive rubber pieces.

PLA will soften and deform inside a car in the summer heat, I generally recommend PETG, ABS, ASA or other higher temp filiments.

No supports needed.

Version History:

V2.1 Made the tablet screw maximum size for the printing bed 256mm long

V2.0 New faster easier to adjust custom stronger screw rod and threaded knurled adjuster, less material use, sway bar is now part of the main unit so there's no more tight inserting sway bar.

V1.0 Initial Design

Assembly Instructions: Slide the bottom bracket onto the screw and put the nut on and screw it in. Thread about 1m of rope or paracord through the top shaft and make a loop with an adjustable taught-line hitch that fits over the top of your seat.

Boosts are very much appreciated! Thanks!

Hobby project, shared as-is. Not safety tested for vehicle use. Use at your own risk.

absolutely awful and ruined my day. the string would not go through the hole because there were strings of filament blocking the way and no matter what I tried I could not remove them. please fix this silly design.🙁

What printer and filament is this? Did you use your own filament presets or mine? My profile was for Bambu PETG HF. Also if you're printing PLA and using my profile it is too hot of a setting. There's nothing in my profile that makes strings. That object is just a circle cutout inside a square, and there's nothing really complicated about it. If you printer has trouble printing vertical circles, there are bigger issues there. Generally stringing is caused by printing at too hot of a temperature or by not drying your filament in a filament dryer for 6+ hours beforehand.

I used a1 with Bambu lab pla basic filament and there was a lot of stringing inside the tube and I couldn’t get the line through.

managed to get it to work is by putting a blob of blue tack on a screwdriver and attaching the string to that and then pushing it through it lasted one trip before it then snapped

Good job - I created a model based on yours with two screws (left- and right-handed threads) – it's more stable

Nice idea! My old design actually had the sway bar separate from the clamps, so you could actually slide 2 clamps on. I might rethink that again. It was just tough getting the tolerances to work for every printer that might overextrude or underextrude.

The print profile is no longer public
printed in PLA (may justify difficulties) the bar through which the filament can pass is too fragile, printed without support with the print profile, so there is a lot of "lost" filament inside and the whole thing is too fragile/flexible

There's now a new V2 design uploaded that prints the sway bar and main unit in one piece. I also don't recommend PLA as it will deform and soften inside a car in the summer heat.

That profile should work just fine using PETG, just switch the filament.
