Description
A practical and easy-to-print belt lock for HTD 3M belts. I tested it in PETG, but stronger materials (like nylon or fiber-reinforced filaments) are recommended if you want long-term durability.
This design includes multiple options:
- Standard lock for quick and simple use.
- Top and bottom plates for a 100% 3D-printed build.
- For extra strength, I also made some plates in steel and aluminum.
- Small 3M groove inserts are included, which can be placed on each side of the belt to center 6 mm, 9 mm, or 12 mm wide belts.
Assembly notes:
- Best results with through-bolts and lock nuts for maximum strength. (Then print 2 of the non-threaded plate)
- An alternative threaded under-plate is included if you prefer a fully printed solution.
This is intended as a practical solution for hobby projects and prototyping machines where you want the convenience of printing a replacement part whenever needed.
Tip: Experiment with different filaments and print settings to find the best balance between strength, flexibility, and service life.
