Helm of Darkness - Greek Mythology

A Minimalist and Modern Spartan Helmet Desk décor and table lamp.

Inspired by the mythical Greek "Helm of Darkness" or "Cap of Invisibility".    According to Greek Mythology, this powerful helmet was created by the elder Cyclopes for Hades, granting the wearer the ability to become completely invisible. 

The Design and Model

With no AMS needed, The helmet consists of two parts: A snap fit outer shell and an inner liner, allowing for contrasting materials, colors, and other customization. . The featured design consists of a matte black PLA outer shell and a gold-colored silk PLA liner.   This combination provides a striking contrast of the high shine of the gold interior and the strong, matte black of the outer shell.   

Additionally, the model also includes a stand with an optional, integrated LED light and shield base, adorned with the Greek Lambda symbol representing Lacedaemon, the ancient name for the Spartan city-state.   

This shield rests above the LED light, acting as a color filter or "gel", allowing for an inner light to be cast into the helmet liner to be reflected beyond.

Opportunities for Creativity:

This helmet provides ample opportunity for customization of colors, textures, and materials.  From contrasting colors such as matte white exterior, with a blue interior.  A Matte black exterior with a purple interior, or even using specialty filaments to provide contrast such as PLA "Galaxy" or PLA "Sparkle" by Bambu Lab.
