Description
Origin
In Greek mythology, the Nemean Lion is often described as the offspring of Typhon and Echidna, the notorious parents of many monsters. Some versions suggest it was born from Selene, the moon goddess, and Zeus, or even from the Chimera. To spite Zeus, Hera sent the lion to Nemea to guard one of his temples, preventing worshippers from approaching.
This is a highly detailed lion figurine posed standing proudly on a rocky base. The lion’s body is muscular with clearly defined anatomy, including visible rib and muscle structure. Its mane is sculpted with large, layered clumps, giving it a bold, stylized look that resembles carved or sculpted hair. The lion’s mouth is open in a powerful roaring pose, showing its strength and dominance. Its stance is dynamic, with the front paws gripping the higher part of the rock and the hind legs positioned firmly for balance, creating a dramatic and majestic display piece.
Perfect for display or as part of a wildlife or fantasy-themed scene, this figure emphasizes power, motion, and regal presence.
