Description

This model is a simple 16cm x 20cm Frame and Deckle for homemade papermaking.

papermaking is an easy and fun hobby that has literally millions of variations and uses.  This model allows you to create your own upcycled papers in very little time and for almost no cost.

Paper is an amazing wonder material that modern societies really take for granted.  Did you know that most paper is infinitely recycleable?  if handled carefully, paper can be re-pulped and turned into new paper, packaging, etc.  Ever notice how most packaging these days says “contains at least X% recycled paper”?  Well, this model allows you to make your own sheets of paper from pretty much any waste paper products that you may have in your house.

Old cardboard, product packaging, shipping materials, junk mail, sensitive documents that you dont want to just put int he bin without destroying.  This hobby allows you to use all of these things (and more) to make upcycled sheets of paper that are not only beautiful, but functional too!

Follow this guide to learn how to use the Deckle and Frame to make your own paper for super cheap!

I use this model to make paper ribbons for my “purity seals” and other cosplay type props, but the process is the same for any upcycling of paper goods you choose to make.  There are entire online stores dedicated to handmade papers of varying styles, qualities, and the like. Maybe you can use this model to make a buck or two!

As always, please share your creations.  This model is going to help you make paper sheets in the 15 x 19cm size.  It can be scaled up or down, but beware that the pore size in the screen may become too large if you are going to scale it up to fit a large print bed.  The pore size can also get to be a bit too small if you shrink it down too much, so be wary.  I do not have an H series printer to try and make a XL sized one of these (yet), but if anyone wants me to model them one I would be happy to.

Happy Printing!
