Description

Introduction

An industrial theme/inspired lamp making use of the Rechargeable kit and the COB LED Strip Light!

May not illuminate a whole room in the dead of night, but this combo puts out a surprisingly and fun amount of light. The lamp comes in two sizes, 200mm or 300mm for the main light tube.

Notes about printing

I set the tube up with some custom supports to help keep it upright and from wavering as it gets to the top. When I printed the 300mm version, it specifically had some troubles as it got towards the top. This fin supports don't just make it look like a cool rocket ship, but help stabilize the whole thing and help keep it from getting knocked loose by the nozzle during printing.

Additionally, I set the pads of the feet up to just print with PLA Matte Charcoal, as I don't currently have any TPU, however, these should be easy enough to print in TPU if you would like.

Assembly Instructions

First things first, we've gotta remote the supports from the light tube. Easy enough, they should just break away.
Next we'll insert the COB LED Strip Light into the tube. Care and slowly. There's some friction, but the overall hole is large enough that if you slowly feed it in, you should be able to get it in there without much issue. Not illustrated, but important, is we'll want to connect the 150mm ZH1.5 to SH1.0 wire now. We'll need to feed this through the base and connect it to the main board.
Before we install the light tube, we'll use 3 M3x8mm self tapping screws to secure the top collar.
Next we'll install the light tube and secure it with 3 M3x8mm Self Tapping Screws. Pay special attention, as the whole in the top of the base is offset to align with the wire attachment point of the COB lighting. The hole is big enough to let the wire through, but small enough to keep the COB from falling through.
Now it's time for the electronics stack! We'll connect everything up, and then assembly the stack. Placing the battery, the spacer/retainer, and placing the main board on top of that. Tuck the wires in and then screw the bottom cap into place using 2 M3x20mm Self Tapping Screws.
Test that everything lights up, and if we're looking good, it's time to put the power button in place. It's press fit and should be snug.
Now it's time to install the legs. Secure them using 6 M3x8mm Self Tapping Screws, 2 on each leg.
Last, but not least, we'll install the feed. Using 3 M3x8mm Self Tapping screws. Pay attention, as the washer has a larger chamfer on the top side.
