Print Profile(3)

Description
Important: Please read all the printing tips and instructions below before starting your print. PrismTrix can be tricky to get right if your printer or bed isn’t prepared, but with the right setup it comes out great.
PrismTrix – a flowing, print-in-place triangular fidget fabric that bends, drapes, and delights
Introducing PrismTrix – a unique print-in-place triangular fidget fabric. Unlike the usual square or hex designs, PrismTrix is built from interlocking triangles that create a flexible, flowing sheet you can drape, fold, and play with endlessly. It’s satisfying to handle, fun to fidget with, and eye-catching when printed in different colors or materials.
This design took me a long time to get working the way I wanted. Getting the hinges to print smoothly while staying strong was tricky, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. If you enjoy it too, I’d be super grateful if you gave this model a boost, it really helps and motivates me to keep designing more. 🙏🚀

🛠️ Printing Tips ✨
PrismTrix is a little more demanding than a simple print, but with the right prep, it comes out beautifully:
- Clean your bed thoroughly before printing – even a tiny bit of residue can cause adhesion issues.
- Calibrate your printer (especially bed leveling) so your first layer sticks down properly. A dialed-in first layer is key.
- Extra adhesion help: If you want even better sticking power, apply a thin layer of glue stick or hairspray to your bed.
- Dry your filament: Dry filament improves print quality and makes a successful run much more likely.
- ⚠️ Do not print on a Cool Plate SuperTack. The adhesion will be too strong, and the fabric will be nearly impossible to remove without ripping or damaging the print. Stick with a smooth PEI or textured plate instead.
- Slowing down the first-layer speed can also help with bed adhesion and detail accuracy.
Pulling PrismTrix off of the bed without getting it to rip can be a bit tricky, but if you follow these steps, it should go smother:
- Wait for your plate to cool: If you try to pull it off before it cools, it is way more likely to not rip.
- Bend the plate back and forth: Slightly bending the plate back and forth can help loosen up the pieces and it will come off a lot easier
- Find a loose corner, and pull lightly: This is super important. If you pull too hard it will rip. You need to pull gently. Once you pull a little bit off the bed, move you hand down to what you just got off, so that you're not constantly pulling on the corner. Just keep moving your hand around.
- If there's a spot that's not coming off, grab a plastic scraper: Using a scraper to pry at it while you're getting it off can make the difference of a ripped print or not.
If you are unsure if the print is going to stick to the bed, run the PrismTrix sample. It doesn't take too long, and it will show you if the big PrismTrix will work! The last picture shows the size of the 256mm by 256mm compared to the 185mm by 185mm compared to the sample.
Once the first layer is locked in, the rest of the print runs smoothly and the hinges will free up with just a little flexing.
I’d love to see how yours turns out – experiment with rainbow filaments, matte finishes, or metallics for some amazing effects. And don’t forget to share your makes!
PrismTrix is a print-in-place fidget fabric and can be delicate. If your print rips or you fold it in a way its not supposed to be folded, that is not my fault. Please don’t leave a negative review automatically.
If you’re having trouble getting a successful print, leave a comment and I’ll do my best to help you troubleshoot. I want everyone to succeed and enjoy PrismTrix!
Thanks!!
