NA Mazda Miata MX-5 Eunos Roadster 16oz Cupholder

Description
NOTE: Update/Edit follows the descrption!
Mazda's fantastic first-generation “NA” Miata (aka: MX-5, Eunos Roadster) has few glaring faults, but a big one for anyone that wants to enjoy both the wind in their hair and a beverage in their hand is that beyond some shallow indents that can clip into the console in place of the ashtray, there's nowhere to put drinks.
There are some clever aftermarket and 3D model cupholders out there, but most encroach in the car's already limited passenger space or interfere with shifting, and many of those only hold one drink.
Fortunately, a solution exists!
Standing on the shoulders of Makers before me, namely LowFastFox (whose “NB” generation cupholder was the genesis for the design) and SteveFlesher (who modified LFF's design to fit the NA, cleverly adding tabs that help lock the cupholder under the rear edge of the car's existing console), I present a version that holds larger drinks securely and (just a slightly awkward reach) out of the way…
My wife's request for modifications to Steve's version was that the rings must accommodate large Tim Hortons (coffee shop) cups and 16oz YETI Ramblers to maximize our touring enjoyment. Additionally, the console lid still had to be operable, even with drinks in place.
Mission Accomplished.
The Remix widened and raised the top ring area - the portion above the base is completely new. Making the unit taller to fit the larger drinks allowed me to key-slot the rear to make use of one of the car's existing trim fasteners to stabilize and secure the cupholder. I can't say that you could autocross with two full drinks, but I can vouch that under normal Miata-aggressive driving including hard braking, two large bevies (and the holder itself) will remain in place.
Installation is simple - remove the pushpin and then push it back into the hole just enough to stay in place, slide the cupholder down behind the console slightly, line up the pin in the slot, and push the holder down while pressing it back towards the rear wall, pushing the pin in as far as possible once the unit is bottomed on the console. No drilling, no screws, no tape, no glue required. Removal is as easy as pulling up to disengage the pin in the slot or forward to pull the pin out.
Due to the high interior temperatures in cars - even convertibles - PETG or better is recommended. The prototype, printed on my Creality Ender 3 V3 KE using the slicer's default PETG settings had terrible layer adhesion and a rough finish. The two “production” versions seen in the photos were done with 3 wall loops and 20% infill at 50% speed and 240º; alter that as your equipment and knowledge allow. You will have to re-orient the STL file in your slicer to print it flat on its back, but supports are not required and were not used in what you see. (You could use them on the rings, if so desired.)
PLEASE NOTE: This design is shaped to fit 1990-1997 “NA” (first-generation) Mazda Miatas and MX-5's with the original factory centre console and rear-wall trim. It should fit NA Eunos Roadsters too, as I believe their console is shaped the same. It will work with both a Hard Dog Deuce and a 3-piece hard tonneau, as shown. It has NOT been verified on aftermarket large-capacity consoles and probably will not work on cars with console deletes as it is supported by the console's rear edge. It will NOT fit second-generation “NB” cars, unfortunately.
This design is heavily based on that of the Makers noted above, neither of which permitted commercial use; I don't, either. Please respect the permissions, but Remix away!
If you liked this design and it did the trick for you, please share photos and feedback. - SM
UPDATE/EDIT: It was brought to my attention by a maker that their 1990 car had a gap beneath the cupholder when seated on the pushpin. Whether this is because the console is lower or the pushpin higher is unknown. They reported a 13 mm gap beneath their cup holder, so you'll now find a “LONG” slot variation in the model files where the slot has been lengthened by 13 mm - I do apologize that it took this long for me to get back to this model.
The slot length is the only change made to this new version. I have not test printed it, as I have no reason to believe that will affect how it prints since the Version 1 slot prints perfectly and this is simply a longer slot. (And it's pointless test-fitting the update in the two NA's I have access to as V1 fits both already.) Please let me know if there is in fact an issue!
