The AX-03 Adzam was the first MA in history. It was a mobile gun emplacement developed by modifying the mobile ground attack weapon G87 Lunar Tank, but ultimately could not be mass-produced because it failed to implement the tactical and operational concepts of its design, serving only as an experimental weapon

Equipped with a still-experimental Minovsky particle generator, this unit could perform short periods of hovering movement. To ensure its flight capability, heavy armor was not applied during its design, making it highly vulnerable to destruction. In terms of weaponry, technicians equipped the upper and lower sections of the unit with four twin-barreled MEGA particle cannons each, but to ensure the proper functioning of the Minovsky particle generator, the number of shots was severely limited

Additionally, technicians equipped the unit's underside with a special weapon called "Leader". This weapon, once launched, emits powerful electromagnetic waves capable of disrupting enemy electronic circuits. Originally, the "Leader" was intended for attacking ground vehicles such as tanks, but it proved to be highly effective against Mobile Suits as well. As experimental units, two Adzams were assigned to M'Quve's Odessa base. Unit 1 engaged the Earth Federation Forces' White Base, causing the RX-78-2 Gundam Unit 2 to struggle immensely, but it was ultimately destroyed. Unit 2 participated in the Battle of Odessa as a Zeon defender and was destroyed by the RX-79[G] Ground Type Gundam of the 3rd MS Team commanded by Matt Healy.
