Double slotted rigid heddle generator

Rigid heddle with pattern threads generator.

A narrow decorative band can be woven on a rigid heddle. For this specific rigid heddle design, a technique called pick-up would be easier and faster to weave through the added pattern slots. 

Through this generator, you can also adjust the height of the slots, diameter of the holes, and even the top and bottom border for better grip! The only limit here, is the size of your own printing bed.

If you find a hole or a slot catching on the yarn, try to lightly sand the area and the issue should go away.

Parameters:

• Pattern slots: The amount of pattern slots to be generated.
  • NOTE: The value of this parameter MUST be an odd number.
  • Each pattern slot is surrounded by either a hole or a non-pattern slot on either side. Therefore, the value in this parameter will also generate additional holes and non-pattern slots. See the following:
    • 3 pattern slots = 4 holes and 2 non-pattern slots.
    • 5 pattern slots = 4 holes and 6 non-pattern slots.
    • 7 pattern slots = 8 holes and 6 non-pattern slots.
    • 9 pattern slots = 8 holes and 10 non-pattern slots.
       
• Pattern slot length: Pattern slot length in mm. 
   
• Slot length: The length of each non-pattern slot in mm.
• Slot width: The width of each non-pattern slot in mm.
   
• Hole diameter: The diameter of each hole in mm.
• Side holes: Amount of holes to be put on each side of the generated pattern slots. 
  • A value of 3, will create 6 holes. 3 holes placed on the left side, and 3 on the right side. Non-pattern slots is automatically calculated and generated.
     
• Space: The edge-to-edge space between holes and slots in mm.
  • I would recommend a space of 2.5-3 mm or more.
     
• Border top and bottom: The border which extends outward on the top and bottom in mm.
  • I would recommend a bigger border on top and bottom if the heddle is long, as it provides some extra strength horizontally. 
• Border left and right: The border which extends outward on the left and right in mm.
• Border radius: The border corner radius in mm.
  • Set value to 0, if you want the corners to be completely straight.
     
• Heddle thickness: The thickness of the entire heddle in mm.
